Concerned about global warming and the environment? Well at KL9 Construction, so are we. Over the last several years we have become experts in the latest eco-friendly materials and technologies so we can help our customers “go green”. Green homes are more than the latest real estate trend. Their designs are yielding significant environmental benefits, improving lives and raising property values.
One of the most popular and effective things you can add to your project is install solar electric panels. Many of our clients are currently benefiting from dramatically reduced electricity costs. The current choices of roof mounted solar panels are sleek, unobtrusive and very efficient. There are generous rebates and tax credits available to you as well. The greatest part of owning a solar system is that on a sunny day you can go out to your electric meter and actually see it spinning backwards! In other words, you are producing more electricity than you are using.

We also regularly install tankless water heaters. These energy saving water heaters only use gas when you turn on a hot water faucet. So whereas traditional hot water heaters are in use 24 hours a day, burning gas, tankless units only run when there is a demand for hot water. The end result is that you use a lot less gas and save a lot more money.
We always incorporate the maximum amount of insulation into all our projects and use only the most energy efficient windows and appliances including highly efficient furnaces and air conditioners. Always look for the energy star rating when shopping for new appliances. Energy Star qualified appliances incorporate advanced technologies that use 10–50% less energy and water than standard models. The money you save on your utility bills can more than make up for the cost of a more expensive but more efficient Energy Star model.

There are also many types of building materials, lumber products, flooring, water saving plumbing fixtures and irrigation products that all help to save water, decrease emissions and reduce the use of natural resources. Our projects and homes are constructed without toxic building materials such as formaldehyde-laced particleboard and insulation or dioxin-filled vinyl flooring. When you combine all these green systems into your project, the cumulative, long term, cost savings is substantial and any negative effects on the environment are greatly reduced.
